Backyard exploits

Today was a bit of a slow day. So iI decided to get out and about in the backyard with my camera in hand. The bees were going nuts around the hive so I decided that it wasn’t a good time to be trying to stick a lens in thier faces. With spring getting into full swing, there were flowers everywhere so I decided to go looking around them to get a few shots. To my surprise I found a tiny little spider hiding under a leaf. I couldn’t lethim get away with this so I Got the tripod out and put the D7000 on it with the Tokina 100mm Macro. I got a couple of shots before it got mad and took off to destination unknown. After that, it was a trip to the vegie beds to find some more willing subjects where i found some more spiders and some aphids. Then I turned around and there was the most unusual looking butterfly with orange legs. I had to get it. It landed on my grapevine and the camera went into overdrive. Got some shots of it laying eggs on my vine before it took off never to be seen again.

I think the next trip will involve my reversing ring to get in a little closer and hopefully some more details.
